Crispy Beef Tacos

Flavors Used:

Allow me to change your taco game real quick! These Crispy Beef Tacos start with a simple flour tortilla pan-crisped in a little high-heat olive oil until golden and crunchy. Then we load it up with seasoned ground beef made with Dan-O’s Tac-O Seasoning Packet - Mild, shredded lettuce, cheese, and taco sauce. The trick is keeping the skillet just above medium heat and watching those tortillas closely because they crisp up fast. Crunchy, beefy, loaded with classic taco flavor, and seriously Dan-Good!

Ingredients

  • 1 packet Dan-O’s Tac-O Seasoning Packet - Mild
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 tbsp high-heat olive oil
  • 8 small flour tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup shredded cheese
  • ½ cup taco sauce

Preparation Instructions

  1. Prepare the Taco Meat: Cook the ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat, breaking it apart as it cooks, until browned and cooked through, about 7 to 8 minutes. Drain any excess grease, then season the ground beef with Dan-O’s Tac-O Seasoning Packet - Mild according to the package directions. Keep warm while you prepare the tortillas.
  2. Heat the Skillet: Heat a separate skillet over medium to medium-high heat. Add enough high-heat olive oil to lightly coat the bottom of the skillet. Keep the heat just above medium and avoid letting the oil get too hot, as the tortillas can burn quickly.
  3. Crisp the Flour Tortillas: Place one flour tortilla into the hot skillet and cook for 10 to 15 seconds, or until it begins to puff. Flip the tortilla and gently press down any air bubbles. Continue flipping and cooking until both sides are golden and crispy, less than 1 minute total. Repeat with the remaining tortillas, adding a little more olive oil to the skillet as needed.
  4. Assemble the Tacos: Fill each crispy flour tortilla with the prepared Dan-O’s Tac-O seasoned ground beef. Top with shredded lettuce, shredded cheese, and taco sauce.
  5. Serve: Serve and. Yum Yum Get Ya Sum!
