Roasted Garlic Bread

This roasted garlic bread recipe is easy and delicious! With just a few ingredients, including Dan-O’s Italian-O, you’ll make a buttery spread that elevates your Italian bread. Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp Dan-o’s Italian-O
  • 1 head of garlic
  • 1 Italian bread loaf
  • 1 stick (1/2 cup) unsalted butter
  • Olive oil (for drizzling)

Preparation Instructions

  1. Roast the Garlic: Preheat your oven to 400°F.
  2. Take the head of garlic and identify the root and stem sides. Cut about 1/4 inch off the top of the garlic (the stem side) to expose the cloves.
  3. Drizzle a little olive oil over the exposed garlic. Wrap the garlic head in aluminum foil, ensuring the exposed side is facing up. Seal it tightly.
  4. Place the wrapped garlic in the oven and roast for 45 minutes until it becomes a golden brown.
  5. Prepare the Garlic Spread: While the garlic is roasting, cut the Italian bread loaf in half lengthwise.
  6. In a separate bowl, melt 1 stick of butter and Dan-O’s Italian-O.
  7. Make the Garlic Paste: Once the garlic is done roasting, carefully remove it from the oven and unwrap the foil. Let it cool for a minute, then squeeze the roasted garlic cloves out of their skins into a bowl. They should pop out easily.
  8. Use a fork to mash the garlic into a paste. Add the garlic paste to the butter and mix well.
  9. Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over the cut sides of the Italian bread.
  10. Place the bread halves on a baking sheet and put in the oven for 5-10 minutes to toast the edges slightly brown.
  11. Remove the garlic bread from the oven, let it cool for a few minutes, then slice and serve warm.
