Louisville, KY — Dan-O’s Seasoning founder, Dan Oliver, sat down with John Ramsey of Wave 3 News last week to discuss everything going on in the world of Dan-O’s. Dan is no stranger to Wave 3, where he was interviewed in August 2018 by reporter Shannon Cogan.
The only thing that’s changed between the August 2018 and August 2020 interviews, is that Dan’s product, Dan-O’s Seasoning, has become a nation-wide hit. As Ramsey discusses, the popularity has exploded both locally and nationally with Dan-O’s Seasoning’s recent NASCAR sponsorship and rise to social media fame.
“If you wave a little bit of this on almost anything, you’ll instantly become a better cook. Your kids will love it, your wife will love it, I love it. It’s amazing.” Boasts Ramsey, who is a frequent user of the product. Ramsey mentions that he’s had it on everything from hamburgers, to grilled vegetables, to the eggs he had for breakfast the day of the interview.
The two go back and forth discussing the flavor profile of Dan-O’s, which Dan mentions consists of garlic, onion, lemon peel, orange peel, rosemary, and sea salt as the main flavors.
“I carry some to work because whatever you get, it’s going to taste better courtesy of Dan-O’s. I was a little apprehensive at first because seasoning is seasoning, but no, Dan-O’s is different,” mentions Ramsey, which echos one of the many ways Dan Oliver uses the product. Dan is known to keep a bottle in his truck to spice up his food on the go, similar to how you’d use a salt and pepper shaker.
The two also discuss the Dan-O’s NASCAR sponsorship, where driver Spencer Boyd reached out to Dan Oliver as a fan of the product. Boyd and Dan-O worked together to get a custom Dan-O’s truck for a run at the Daytona Street Track, where the two met and ultimately had a “Dan Good” time.
