Ingredients
Crunchy Bacon Ranch Topping
⅓ packet Dan-O’s Dips Ranch
1½ lbs bacon
4 oz panko breadcrumbs
Dip Base
Remaining Dan-O’s Dips Ranch packet
1 packet Dan-O’s Dips Dill
2 blocks (8 oz each) cream cheese, softened
16 oz sour cream
1 jar (24 oz) dill pickle spears, diced
2–3 tablespoons pickle juice
Remaining cooked bacon (about ¾ of batch)
Optional Garnish
Whole dill pickle spear on top
Preparation Instructions
Cook the Bacon: Cut the bacon into small strips. Cook in a skillet over medium heat until crispy, stirring occasionally. Transfer bacon to a paper towel–lined plate to drain. Keep the bacon drippings in the pan, then carefully blot out about 75% with paper towels, leaving a thin layer of grease to lightly coat the bottom of the pan.
Make the Crunchy Topping: Finely chop about ¼ of the cooked bacon and set aside. Add panko breadcrumbs to the bacon grease. Toast on medium heat, stirring constantly (about 1 minute) until golden. Transfer toasted panko to a bowl immediately. Stir in the finely chopped bacon, ⅓ packet of Dan-O’s Dips Ranch. Mix and set aside. This becomes your crunchy topping.
Make the Dip Base: In a large bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, diced pickles, pickle juice, and remaining chopped bacon. Sprinkle in the remaining Dan-O’s Dips Ranch and Dan-O’s Dips Dill. Mix thoroughly, pressing out cream cheese lumps until smooth and creamy.
Assemble: Spread dip into a wide, shallow serving bowl. Sprinkle generously with the bacon ranch topping over the top.
Garnish & Serve: Top with a whole pickle spear. Serve with tortilla chips, crackers, or veggie sticks. Yum Yum Get Ya Sum!
