Feeling like your pizza nights are getting a little stale? Well, prepare to get spooky with this Mushroom Skull Flatbread that’s both creepy and delicious! Perfect for Halloween or any night you want to summon some serious flavor. With mozzarella melting over a skull-shaped mushroom masterpiece, this flatbread brings the perfect balance of scare and share. Top it off with black olives for eyes that stare back as you devour it—because nothing says “I love pizza” like staring into the abyss... of melted cheese. Ingredients

  • Dan-O's Cheesoning® Seasoning
  • 4 flatbreads
  • 1 lb mushrooms
  • Pesto - 1 jar
  • Fresh greens - chopped - spinach, parsley chives work well
  • Shredded mozzarella cheese

Preparation Instructions

  1. Pre-heat oven to 400 degrees and line a shallow baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Place your flatbreads on lined baking sheet. Brush them lightly with olive oil and set aside.
  3. Next, wash and dry mushrooms. Then cut each in half. Use a straw to make the eye holes. Then use a knife or toothpick to cut (or scrape out) a few small holes for the nose. Then, cut small slits on the stems for teeth. Repeat until you have as many “skulls” as desired.
  4. Spread pesto on the tops of each flatbread and Sprinkle Generously®with Cheesoning®  and shredded cheese.
  5. Next, sprinkle some greens on them, and add mushrooms. Lightly brush or spray your mushrooms with a bit more olive oil to help them brown up (optional).
  6. Bake for 9- 13 min. until flatbreads are golden brown around the edges, mushrooms are browned and cheese is melted.
