Ingredients

  • 1 tsp Dan-O’s Crunchy Seasoning
  • 1 tsp Dan-O’s Outlaw Korean Pop BBQ
  • 1 Ahi tuna steak
  • 1 Burger bun
  • Slaw mix
  • 2 tbsp mayo
  • 1/2 tsp Ginger paste
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp toasted sesame oil

Preparation Instructions

  1. Start by making the marinade. In a small bowl, whisk together 1 tablespoon sesame oil, 1 tablespoon rice vinegar, ½ tablespoon soy sauce, and the ginger paste until well combined.
  2. Brush the marinade over all sides of the ahi tuna steaks. Then coat each steak generously with Dan-O's Outlaw Korean Pop BBQ Seasoning, followed by a layer of Dan-O's Crunchy Seasoning. Gently pat the seasonings onto the fish so they stick.
  3. Heat a drizzle of oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until it's nice and hot. Carefully place the tuna into the skillet and sear for 1 to 1½ minutes per side, depending on the thickness of the steak. Sear the edges as well for a beautiful crust while keeping the center perfectly rare. Transfer the tuna to a paper towel-lined plate and let it rest for 5 minutes.
  4. While the tuna rests, make the slaw. In a medium bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, 1 tablespoon sesame oil, 1 tablespoon rice vinegar, ½ tablespoon soy sauce, and ½ teaspoon Dan-O's Outlaw Korean Pop BBQ Seasoning. Fold in the coleslaw mix until everything is evenly coated.
  5. Toast your burger buns if you'd like, then place the seared ahi tuna steak on the bottom bun. Pile the Korean BBQ slaw generously on top and finish with the top bun.
  6. Serve immediately and enjoy a burger that's fresh, crunchy, savory, and packed with bold Korean-inspired flavor. Yum Yum Get Ya Sum!®
