Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp Dan-O’s Outlaw Korean Pop BBQ
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons mirin (sweet rice wine), optional
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken thighs, trimmed
  • 1 tablespoon chopped green onion, garnish
  • Shiitake mushrooms and slaw mix for sides

Preparation Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, 1 tablespoon Dan-O's Korean Pop BBQ Seasoning, honey, brown sugar, mirin, and sesame oil until smooth. Reserve 4 tablespoons of the marinade for later and set it aside.
  2. Place the chicken and the remaining marinade in a large resealable bag. Seal it up, give it a good massage to coat the chicken, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. When you're ready to cook, remove the chicken and discard the used marinade.
  3. Sprinkle the chicken with the remaining 1 tablespoon of Dan-O's Korean Pop BBQ Seasoning for an extra layer of sweet and savory flavor.
  4. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and cook the chicken for 6–8 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F. Transfer the chicken to a plate and let it rest.
  5. In the same skillet, add the sliced mushrooms along with the reserved marinade. Cook for a few minutes until the mushrooms begin to soften.
  6. Add a handful of coleslaw mix, then toss everything together. Cook for another 2–3 minutes, just until the slaw is tender-crisp and coated in all that Korean BBQ goodness.
  7. Slice the chicken and serve it over hot cooked rice alongside the mushrooms and slaw. Finish with a sprinkle of chopped green onions for a fresh pop of flavor. Yum Yum Get Ya Sum!®
