Crockpot BBQ Meatballs

Crockpot BBQ Meatballs

Flavors Used:

These Crockpot BBQ Meatballs are the ultimate slow cooker appetizer for game day, tailgates, holiday parties, and potlucks. Homemade meatballs seasoned with Dan-O's Original Seasoning and SPG Tri-O are browned to perfection before simmering for hours in a rich, smoky BBQ sauce. The slow cooker does all the work, leaving you with tender, juicy meatballs that stay warm and ready to serve throughout your event. Whether you're feeding a crowd, planning a tailgate menu, or looking for an easy make-ahead appetizer, these BBQ meatballs are guaranteed to disappear fast. Grab some toothpicks—or slider buns—and get ready to serve a party favorite that's packed with bold, Dan-Good flavor.

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp Dan-O’s Original Seasoning
  • 1 tbsp Dan-O’s SPG Tri-O (Salt, Pepper, Garlic) Seasoning
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 large egg
  • ⅓ cup finely diced onion (dice it smaller than I do in the video)
  • ⅓ cup breadcrumbs

For the BBQ sauce:

  • 2 tbsp Dan-O’s Outlaw Sweet & Tangy BBQ
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup finely diced onion

Preparation Instructions

  1. Start by making the meatballs. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, ⅓ cup diced onion, Dan-O's Original Seasoning, and Dan-O's SPG Tri-O. Mix until everything is just combined—don't overwork it if you want tender, juicy meatballs.
  2. Roll the mixture into about 24 meatballs, each roughly 1 inch in diameter.
  3. Cook the meatballs: Heat a drizzle of oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the meatballs until browned on all sides and cooked through.
  4. While the meatballs cook, whisk together all of the BBQ sauce ingredients in a small to medium slow cooker until smooth and well combined.
  5. Add the cooked meatballs to the slow cooker and gently stir until every meatball is coated in that sweet, smoky sauce.
  6. Cover and cook on Low for 3–4 hours, allowing the flavors to meld together into saucy perfection.
  7. Serving later? No problem! Switch the slow cooker to the Warm setting, and the meatballs will stay delicious for another 1–2 hours—perfect for parties, potlucks, and tailgates.
  8. Serve with toothpicks as an appetizer or pile them onto slider buns for an easy meal. Yum Yum Get Ya Sum!®
