Dan-O’s Seasoning Sponsors Their First Bike Race, “Tour de Dan-O’s”

Dan-O’s sponsored its first-ever cycling event called Tour de Dan-O’s. The race was organized by a local Louisville Bicycle Group called the Crazy Ridenfaden Cyclist. This race included 2 routes, one was 35 miles and the other was 53 miles. The 53-mile route even included nearly 3,000 feet of uphill climbing.

Last year, Dan-O’s Seasoning VP of Sales Tyler Watson joined the group, “About a year ago I began riding with Ridenfaden and for me, it was so cool to see a community embrace a new cyclist so fast,” Watson said.

“When we connected with Tyler we thought it would be a great idea for Dan-O’s Seasoning to sponsor us,” said the cycling club’s founder John Mahorney.

Ridenfaden is a sponsor-supported group that relies upon sponsors for the group to survive. The club does not require dues from its members and that’s why sponsors play such an important role. For the last year, Dan-O’s Seasoning has sponsored the group and this event is our first organized event together.

“I don’t know of too many sponsor-supported bicycle groups in the country. I think that’s pretty cool. In a way, we’re not a racing team, but a lot of people in the bike club are inspired to go racing I think because of the camaraderie and the sponsorship we get. But we do like to get some love and show some love to our sponsors and today we are getting a whole lot of love from Dan-O’s,” said Mahorney.

The event ended up being a huge success and it was a great way for the cyclist to get together to do what they love. There was additional support from other amazing businesses in the Louisville community such as Monik Beer Company and San Remo Apparel.

Watson once again wanted to take the opportunity to thank all of the amazing sponsors who supported the event, “We just appreciate all the support we saw in the cycling community today, it means a whole lot to us and we’ll do it again next year.”
