Ingredients
- 2 tbsp Dan-O’s Original
- 1 pound kale (stems removed)
- 1 large red onion, diced
- 2 pounds Italian sausage
- 2 pounds russet potatoes (about 4 large potatoes), peeled or unpeeled and diced
- 1 pound bacon, diced small
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 14 cups chicken stock
Preparation Instructions
- In a large pot, add the diced bacon. Cook over medium heat until crispy. Remove the bacon and set aside, leaving some bacon grease in the pot.
- In the same pot with the bacon grease, add the diced red onion and minced garlic. Sauté until the onion is translucent and fragrant.
- In a separate pan, cook the Italian sausage over medium heat until browned.
- Add the cooked sausage to the pot with the onions and then incorporate the bacon.
- Pour the chicken stock into the pot with the sausage, bacon, and onions.
- Add the remaining ingredients: kale, diced russet potatoes, and heavy cream.
- Bring the mixture to a boil.
- Stir in Dan-O’s Original and let it boil for 30 minutes.
