Meatball Sliders

Alright, my friend, get ready for a party-perfect dish that’s gonna wow your guests! We’re gonna make these amazing Meatball Sliders, Dan-O style: this is the ultimate easy appetizer for your next get-together. We’re taking those soft, sweet Hawaiian rolls, loading ’em up with juicy meatballs, marinara sauce, and melty mozzarella. Then we’re finishing it off with a buttery Italian seasoning that’s gonna make your taste buds do a happy dance. These sliders are so simple but packed full of flavor.

If it’s warm enough that you’ve got the grill going, you can toast the buns on the grill and leave them out of the baking dish step and then combine when the meatballs are cooked. Want to add a spicy kick to these sliders? Use some Dan-O’s Red Pepper Cheesoning®!

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp Dan-O's Cheesoning® Seasoning or Dan-O's Red Pepper Cheesoning®
  • 1 tsp Dan-O's Italian-O seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 12 Hawaiian rolls or slider buns
  • 12 meatballs, cooked - can use frozen or make your own using our meatball recipe
  • 2 cups Pizza or Pasta Sauce, or marinara sauce
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • ¼ cup butter, melted

Preparation Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350° F.
  2. Butter a 9×13 baking dish.
  3. Cut your slider buns in half lengthwise to separate the bottoms from the tops. Place the bottom half of the rolls into the dish.
  4. Mix 1 tbsp Dan-O's Cheesoning® Seasoning into your sauce.
  5. Place a meatball on top of each roll in the dish and then add a spoonful of sauce. Sprinkle mozzarella on top.
  6. Meanwhile, in a small bowl, stir together the melted butter, Dan-O's Italian-O seasoning and garlic powder.
  7. Place the top of the buns on the meatballs and brush them with a little butter mix.
  8. Cover with foil and bake for 10 minutes. Uncover and bake and additional 7 to 10 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and the cheese is melted.
