Its simplicity and the use of widely available ingredients have made it a go-to recipe for home cooks across the country.


  • 1 Shallot
  • 1 Sliced Onion
  • 16 oz Green Beans
  • 1/2 Cup of Heavy Whipping Cream
  • 1/4 Cup of Chicken Broth
  • 1/4 Cup of Flour
  • 1 Cup of Mushrooms (Sliced)
  • 2 TBSP Dan-O's Original Seasoning
  • 1/2 TBSP Dan-O's Spicy Seasoning
  • 1/3 Cup Bread Crumbs
  • 4 Pieces of Thick Cut Bacon
  • 2-3 Stalks of Thyme
  • Garlic (optional)
  • Salt and Pepper (to taste, optional)

Preparation Instructions

  1. Start by boiling the green beans in low heat water seasoned with 1 TBSP Dan-O's Original.
  2. Cut the bacon into small pieces and cook on medium heat until crispy. Then, set it aside.
  3. In the same pan, add the sliced onion, mushrooms, and garlic (optional). Sauté for 4-5 minutes.
  4. Add thyme and continue cooking for 1-2 minutes.
  5. Stir in flour until well combined with the vegetables.
  6. Pour in the heavy whipping cream and chicken broth. Season with Dan-O's Original and Spicy, mixing well until the sauce thickens.
  7. Add the drained green beans to the sauce.
  8. Transfer the green beans and sauce into a baking pan. Sprinkle the top with bacon bits and bread crumbs.
  9. Bake at 350°F for about 20-30 minutes.
  10. Garnish with freshly fried onions and shallots. Serve and enjoy!
