Filet Mignon Root Beer Chili

Filet Mignon Root Beer Chili

Flavors Used:

Today, we’re cooking up something wild — Filet Mignon Root Beer Chili in less than 30 minutes. And not just any chili, we’re throwing in filet mignon along with ground chuck. Might be the best chili you ever had, I’m telling you!
We’re keeping it simple, bold, and packed with flavor. This one’s got fresh veggies, two kinds of Dan-O’s, a splash of root beer for sweetness, and even a little secret ketchup trick that’ll surprise you. Some folks say beans don’t belong in chili – well, guess what? We’re putting them in anyway. That’s the Dan-O’s way. Stick with me step by step, and before that timer hits 30 minutes, you’ll be scooping up chunky, meaty, flavor-packed chili that’ll make you say, “Yum Yum, Get Ya Sum!”

Ingredients

  • 4 tbsp Dan-O’s Tac-O Seasoning
  • 1 tbsp of Dan-O’s Chipotle Seasoning
  • 1 lb ground chuck beef
  • 8 oz filet mignon, cut into tiny cubes
  • 1 medium yellow onion, diced
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1/2 tbsp of diced garlic
  • 3 Roma tomatoes, diced
  • 1 jalapeño, diced (optional, for spice)
  • ½ tsp cumin
  • 12 oz root beer
  • 1 (32 oz) carton unsalted beef stock
  • 1 can red beans
  • ¼ cup of ketchup
  • Toppings: shredded cheese, sour cream, Dan-O’s Chili Lime Seasoning

Preparation Instructions

  1. Heat a little oil in a pot and toss in the diced onion with the garlic. Cook for about 1 minute.
  2. Add 1 pound of ground chuck and cook until browned, breaking it up as it cooks.
  3. Add the diced Roma tomatoes and jalapeño (optional for spice). Stir them into the pot once the beef is cooked.
  4. Sprinkle in the Dan-O’s Tac-O, Dan-O’s Chipotle, and cumin. Stir everything together.
  5. Pour in the root beer and unsalted beef stock. Stir well.
  6. Add the red beans.
  7. Taste the chili. If it needs a little more tomato flavor, squeeze in some ketchup. Stir and taste again. Let it simmer.
  8. At the 27-minute mark, add the filet cubes. Let them cook for 3 minutes until tender.
  9. After 30 minutes total, the chili is ready. Serve with shredded cheese, sour cream, and a sprinkle of Dan-O’s Chili Lime Seasoning.
  10. Yum Yum Get Ya Sum!
