Description

We’ve mentioned before that Dan-O’s Seasoning makes for a Dan-Good vinaigrette dressing. There’s even a vinaigrette recipe on the side of the small Dan-O’s bottle! This slightly sweet, acidic, and tangy dressing is going to be packed full of herbs that will be perfect for the accompanying cucumber and tomato salad recipe.

We also make a big batch when we do this vinaigrette dressing recipe because it is so Dan delicious and versatile. You can store some for later, or simply add more veggies once you run through the fist batch to replenish your bowl. We’re using honey, red wine vinegar, olive oil, and balsamic vinegar. Then all you have to do is mix in your Dan-O’s seasoning for a mouthwatering herb profile and to thicken the sauce. 

The cucumber, tomato, and red onion salad are going to be the next part of your recipe. We like to skin our cucumbers in stripes so it looks fancy, a technique you can see in the video. We went with mixed color grape tomatoes, which will give us a nice color and presentation. Finally, we cut our red onions thin, which you can do by hand or with a mandolin. 

Now that you have your two main ingredients, all that’s left is mixing, resting, and serving! We recommend letting this rest in the refrigerator for at least an hour, but overnight is preferred. So get your big bowl and cutting board ready, and enjoy the Dan-O’s Vinaigrette, Cucumber, and Tomato Salad Recipe. 

Ingredients

Vinaigrette Recipe:

  • 2 cups water
  • 6oz of honey
  • ½ cup balsamic vinegar
  • ½ cup extra virgin olive oil
  • ½ cup red wine vinegar
  • ¾ cup Spicy Dan-O’s

 

Cucumber Tomato Salad Recipe: 

  • 3 whole cucumbers
  • 1 cup grape tomatoes
  • 1 Whole Onion

Instructions

  1. In a bowl of 2 cups of water, stir in 6oz of your favorite honey until dissolved.
  2. Add balsamic vinegar, extra virgin olive oil, red wine vinegar and Spicy Dan-O’s and mix until well blended.
  3. Chop up cucumbers, onion and tomatoes and add to the bowl with vinaigrette.
  4. Stir well and let sit in the fridge overnight.
