Description
Hope you’re ready for the flavor, because today we’re making bourbon maple mustard chicken drumsticks on the grill. That’s right, we got the delicious herb and spice profile of Dan-O’s Seasoning, the tanginess of yellow mustard, the sweetness of maple syrup, and the woody smokiness of Kentucky Bourbon. And we’re bringing these all together on some charcoal cooked chicken legs… say what! This mustard bourbon maple chicken legs recipe is going to be the talk of your next 20 cookouts.
For the drumsticks, you’re going to apply a liberal amount of Dan-O’s all-natural seasoning blend prior to cooking. Get your charcoal grill to about 375 degrees and get ready to drop em on. You’re going to want to cook your chicken to 160 degrees internal, which can take 45 minutes to an hour. During your last 5 or so minutes of cooking, you’ll want to add your bourbon, mustard, and maple syrup glaze to the drumsticks, turning them over a few times while the sauce caramelizes.
So how about this sauce? While your drumsticks are cooking, you can whip this up in just a few minutes. It goes equal parts pure maple syrup and yellow mustard, and a couple of splashes of bourbon. Finally, you’ll want to thicken this up by stirring in a healthy amount of Dan-O’s Seasoning. Once you put this on your chicken, it will add a sticky, zesty, sweet, and smokey flavor that will make you cry… in a good way. Because once on the chicken, this is a match made in heaven.

We made this recipe at the firehouse. Turned out amazing! Made two different glazes. One with pure maple syrup and the other with an all natural bourbon barrel maple syrup.
BOTH AMAZING!
