Lettuce us ask you what’s for dinner, and we hope your answer is these Dan-tastic chicken lettuce wraps! Crispy lettuce envelopes a rich carmalized umami flavored chicken with crispy carrots and water chestnuts for added texture. This a classic Dan-O twist on PF Chang’s crispy lettuce wraps, but after you try ours you might not be going to PF Chang’s as often. A nice part of this recipe is if you don’t wanna do a lettuce wrap, then you can serve chicken mix over something like our fried rice or spicy sesame chile noodles.

Tips and Tricks for Chicken Lettuce Wraps

  • We recommend using a Wok, cast iron skillet, or a Sauté pan.
  • Dice the chicken and vegetables very small to give them a crisp texture and great flavor.
  • Give the chicken & vegetables time to brown and get crispy.
  • If you can’t get butterhead lettuce then we recommend green leaf or romaine lettuce.

If you want a spicy kick then try adding sriracha, crushed red pepper, or Dan-O’s Spicy.



  • 2 lb chicken breasts
  • 1 lb carrots
  • 2 cans water chestnuts (5 oz)
  • 1 tbsp teriyaki sauce
  • 2 dashes of soy sauce
  • ¼ cup Japanese BBQ Sauce like Bachan’s 
  • 2 tbsp Hoisin Sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • Butterhead lettuce
  • Peanut sauce, topping
  • Dan–O’s Crunchy
  • Dan-O’s Original

  1. Add oil to a hot wok
  2. Dice chicken, water chestnuts, and chop carrots. Add to wok and cook until chicken is fully cooked
  3. Then add teriyaki, soy, Hoisin, BBQ, and sesame oil and stir together
  4. Remove from heat and spoon into lettuce leaves.
  5. Serve and enjoy!
