The Tasty Bacon Jam
The best thing about this recipe is the “bacon jam”. You get the sweetness from the bourbon and maple syrup with the saltiness from the bacon, and a hint of spicy from the Dan-O’s. Then the caramelized shallots add a nice little bite to add a little more consistency.
Ingredients
- 1/2 lb of ground beef
- Spicy Dan-O’s Seasoning
- 1 lb of bacon
- 3 shallots
- 1 oz of bourbon
- 1/2 cup of maple syrup
- 2 eggs
- 2 slices of Colby jack cheese
- Spicy pickles
- Mustard

Instructions
- Coat both sides of the burgers in Spicy Dan-O’s Seasoning and place them on the grill Cut your bacon into small slices and cook it in a frying pan. Sprinkle on some Dan-O’s when cooking. Set aside when done.
- Drain half of the bacon grease and leave a little in the pan. Then add the shallots to the pan. Add the bourbon to the pan and let the alcohol cookout. Then add the bacon back in. Now pour the maple syrup on top.
- Add cheese to your burger when it’s still on the grill.
- Reduce the bacon jam and cut the heat.
- Fry an egg in a separate pan.
- Add mustard and pickles to the bun. Then finish dressing the burger with the patty, bacon, and egg.
