Meet “Big Time Bob”, Dan-O’s Pro Cornhole Player

As most grillers and barbecuers know, cooking out and playing cornhole go hand-in-hand. That’s one of the reasons why Dan-O’s Seasoning and Bob Vonch (Big Time Bob) make the perfect team. So, for the 2020-2021 season, Dan-O’s is proud to be a sponsor for Bob Vonch on his journey in the professional cornhole circuit.

Bob Vonch is a professional cornhole player in the American Cornhole League’s (ACL) Mid-South Conference. At age 63 and recently retired, Bob can spend plenty of time pitching bags and participates in many local, regional, and national events. These events have made him a local legend, as well as a nationally recognized player.

With a background in playing horseshoes, Bob always had a knack for pitching. Then, one night, several years back, Bob caught a professional cornhole match at a casino in Southern IN and there was an opening after a team dropped out. Bob decided to give it a try and joined the tournament, and ended up coming in 8th place! He was hooked on throwing bags ever since and decided he would never play horseshoes again.

Since he started playing professionally, Bob has earned success both regionally and nationally on the boards. Some of his accomplishments include winning doubles in Las Vegas, being featured on ESPN, winning the Bluegrass National, and earning number one in a whole slew of competitive senior, doubles, and singles wins all over the country.

Being from Madison, IN, Bob is also a near-neighbor to Dan-O’s Seasoning’s hometown of Louisville, KY. This means Bob makes regular visits to Dan-O’s city to throw bags in tournaments and to play for fun. He is a regular at Fairdale pizza, Jock’s Sports bar, and Breckinridge beer lounge, in case you’re ever in the city and looking to play or spectate.

Apart from being an amazing cornhole player, Bob Vonch is also a great brand ambassador for Dan-O’s Seasoning. He uses the products all the time and is quick to recommend them to the staff at the bars and restaurants he visits in his travels. He’s gotten groups of people as far as California into the seasoning, which is a testament to his efforts and the product quality.

If you’re one of the Dan-O’s fans in Louisville KY or Southern IN, you can even get a chance to play with Bob, as he hosts an open tournament in his hometown of Madison IN every Tuesday at Livery Stable. Then anytime there is a national tournament, there’s a chance you can catch him on ESPN 2 or ESPN 3 depending on how far he goes in the tournament.

Please Join Dan-O’s in congratulating its professional bag thrower, Bob Vonch (Big Time Bob), in a second-place victory in doubles and singles at the ACL Kentucky State Cornhole Championship last weekend. At the event, Bob was able to take down Damon Denis, the current number 1 cornhole player in the world.
