Dan-O’s gives back at the 16th annual Champaign County chapter Banquet!

Urbana, OH – Dan-O’s Seasoning had the opportunity to give back recently by the Champaign County Outdoor Heritage Chapter when they reached out for donation to their 16th annual charity banquet. The banquet has long been a staple in the chapter’s fundraising efforts, and last year’s efforts brought in a record number of donations for the group’s efforts by raising over $100,000 for the cause. The banquet offers dinner, drinks, raffles, live auction, silent auctions, games, and youth activities making it a highlight in the community for the past 16 years.Scott Workman serves as the Chapter Vice President, and his wife Sallie Workman is a committee member who helped make Dan-O’s involvement possible. This is their 16th year serving the chapter. “Our chapter’s work is very close to our hearts. The work we’ve done with veterans, kids and our community is something we’re very proud of.” Sallie shared. Sallie reached out to Dan-O’s after discovering Dan O’s recipes, which inspired her to get some of that Yum Yum Get Ya Sum. She fell in love with it after trying it on some duck breast, and knew she had to see if Dan-O’s could support the cause.

The Champaign County Outdoor Heritage Chapter was previously the Champaign County Whitetails Unlimited; they’ve evolved over the years into their own independent organization. That’s not to say they have no involvement with Whitetails Unlimited, they still work together on the annual banquet. Whitetails Unlimited’s mission is to raise funds in support of educational programs, wildlife habitat enhancement, and acquisition, and preservation of the hunting tradition and shoot sports for future generations. “I know a lot of Fan-O’s are avid hunters, and that for many it’s a family tradition. To be able to give back in a way that supports not just the tradition, but the environment itself. Well that’s a dan-good feeling.” Dan Oliver, the founder of Dan-O’s Seasoning, had to share.
