Mild Ground Beef Taco

Mild Ground Beef Taco

Flavors Used:

My friends, taco night doesn’t have to be complicated to be Dan-Good! The trick with these Crispy Beef Tacos is starting with a hot pan and letting that ground beef get a good sear before you break it apart. That browning gives the beef a whole other level of flavor. Then we bring in a Dan-O’s Tac-O Seasoning Packet - Mild and a little water to hydrate all those spices and get that taco flavor coating every bite. Warm up those crunchy taco shells, load them with seasoned beef, taco sauce, crisp lettuce, and shredded cheese, and you’ve got one easy taco night the whole family can get behind.

Ingredients

  • 1 packet Dan-O’s Tac-O Seasoning Packet - Mild
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • ½ cup water
  • 12–14 crunchy taco shells
  • ½ cup taco sauce
  • 2 cups shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup shredded cheese

Preparation Instructions

  1. Sear the Ground Beef: Heat a large skillet over medium heat until hot. Add the ground beef to the skillet without breaking it apart and let it sear for about 2 minutes. Flip the beef and sear the other side for another 2 minutes. Once both sides are nicely browned, break the beef apart with a spatula and continue cooking for about 3-4 minutes, or until the beef is fully cooked and no pink remains.
  2. Drain the Beef: Push the cooked ground beef to one side of the skillet and tilt the skillet slightly so the rendered grease collects on the other side. Carefully remove and discard the excess grease.
  3. Season the Taco Meat: Add the Dan-O’s Tac-O Seasoning Packet - Mild to the cooked ground beef, then pour in the water. Increase the heat slightly and stir until the seasoning is evenly mixed throughout the beef. Cook for about 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the spices are hydrated, most of the liquid has reduced, and the seasoned mixture evenly coats the beef.
  4. Crisp the Taco Shells: Preheat the oven to 325°F. Arrange the crunchy taco shells on a baking sheet, staggering them slightly so they have enough room to stay open while they heat. Bake for about 6-7 minutes, or until the shells are warmed through and crispy.
  5. Build the Tacos: Fill each warm taco shell with the seasoned ground beef, then drizzle a little taco sauce over the meat. Top with shredded lettuce and shredded cheese, then finish each taco with another light drizzle of taco sauce.
  6. Serve: Serve the Crispy Beef Tacos and Yum Yum Get Ya Sum!
